Asian Totals 2.25 and 2.75: How Split Stakes Settle
See how quarter-goal totals split a stake in half and what happens at two or three goals. Clear over and under examples separate total return from profit.
What a quarter-goal total means
An Asian total of 2.25 or 2.75 appears as one selection, but settlement splits the stake into two equal parts, as shown in published quarter-line settlement rules. Over 2.25 puts half on Over 2.0 and half on Over 2.5. Under 2.75 puts half on Under 2.5 and half on Under 3.0. Both parts use the quoted odds for the quarter-goal selection.
When one half wins and the other is refunded, the result is a half win. One losing half plus one refunded half is a half loss. If you are new to the market, start with standard match totals, which do not split a stake across neighbouring lines.
How 2.25 and 2.75 split
- 2.25 = 2.0 + 2.5: half the stake on each line.
- 2.75 = 2.5 + 3.0: half the stake on each line.
A whole-goal line such as 2.0 or 3.0 can push. If the match finishes with exactly that many goals, that half of the stake comes back without profit. A half-goal line cannot push because the final number of goals is a whole number.
Payout example at decimal odds of 1.90
Assume a 1,000-unit stake throughout. Each half is 500 units. A winning half returns 500 × 1.90 = 950 units; a pushed half returns 500. A full win returns 1,900 units, comprising the original 1,000-unit stake and 900 units of profit.
Zero or one goal
Both unders, Under 2.25 and Under 2.75, win in full and return 1,900 units. Both overs lose and return zero.
Exactly two goals
Over 2.25: Over 2.0 pushes and Over 2.5 loses. The return is 500 units, so the net result is −500 units.
Under 2.25: Under 2.0 pushes and Under 2.5 wins. The return is 500 + 950 = 1,450 units, a net profit of 450 units.
At 2.75, both halves of the under win at two goals, while both halves of the over lose. Their returns are 1,900 and zero respectively.
Exactly three goals
At 2.25, both over halves win and both under halves lose.
Over 2.75: Over 2.5 wins and Over 3.0 pushes. The return is 950 + 500 = 1,450 units, or 450 units of net profit.
Under 2.75: Under 2.5 loses and Under 3.0 pushes. The return is 500 units, or a 500-unit net loss.
Four or five goals
Both overs win in full and both unders lose in full. The same result applies to any higher goal count.
Check the market before placing a bet
Confirm the market and match period. A full-match goal total differs from a team or half-time total. Football match markets commonly use 90 minutes plus stoppage time and exclude extra time in a cup tie unless the selection says otherwise. Check your operator's rules for abandoned or interrupted fixtures.
Do not confuse a 1,450-unit return with 1,450 units of profit: 1,000 units are your original stake. A quarter-goal total changes the payout around a borderline score; it does not make a forecast more accurate or a bet inherently valuable. The price and your assessment of the match remain separate questions. Read how betting odds relate to probability before comparing lines.
