Team Total 1 vs 1.5: When a Push Is Possible

An Asian whole-number team total of 1.0 can push on one goal; a 1.5 line has no push with an integer score.

Whole goal versus half a goal

A team total counts goals by one side, not the combined match score. The team-total basics explain the wider market. The difference between 1.0 and 1.5 is a possible refund at exactly one goal, if the 1.0 offer is an Asian whole-number total.

For Over 1.0, two or more team goals win, zero loses, and exactly one may push. For Under 1.0, zero wins, two or more lose, and exactly one may also push. Over 1.5 needs at least two goals; Under 1.5 wins with zero or one. A team cannot score a fractional number of goals, so an integer score cannot land exactly on the 1.5 threshold.

This applies to an Asian market with a push. If the operator offers “team to score exactly one,” a binary market, or another bet type, settlement can be different. Check the bet-slip description.

Settlement by the selected team’s score

Team goals Over 1.0 Under 1.0 Over 1.5 Under 1.5
0 Loss Win Loss Win
1 Push Push Loss Win
2 or more Win Loss Win Loss

A push returns the original stake without profit or loss for that part. A winning payout includes the original stake; net profit is the amount above it. If the selection is part of an accumulator, the ticket can be recalculated under the operator’s combination rules.

Check the direction separately from the threshold: Over 1.0 and Under 1.0 are opposite sides of the same line, but either can push when the team scores exactly one.

Why a team total is not the match total

A team can score one goal while the match ends 1–2. That side’s team total is one; the match total is three. At 0–0, both team totals and the match total are zero. Make sure you know which team’s goals define the threshold.

Do not confuse a team total with BTTS either: the latter checks whether each side scores. The guide to quarter totals 2.25 and 2.75 shows how a stake can split, but it covers another line and does not make 1.5 a whole-number total.

Before confirming

Check the selected team, whether the market is an Asian/push format, the match period, and whether extra time is included under the operator’s rules. If the screen only says “team total 1,” do not assume a push without the full market description.

The examples with zero, one, and two goals explain the arithmetic. They do not predict a team’s score or show that a whole-number line is better value than a half-goal line.
